Internet users' search interests in February

We are pleased to announce that Yandex has released its rankings of Ukrainian user search interests for February.

February's most unusual trending topic was fashionable rubber boots (9th place, 11,500 searches). The popularity of rubber boots has skyrocketed due to unusually high rainfall and predicted flooding. But even in bad weather, Ukrainians want to look their best – they're searching for [fashionable rubber boots], [colored rubber boots], [beautiful rubber boots], and even [glamorous rubber boots].

The rest of the search results were predictable – Ukrainian Internet users were interested in politics, sports, holidays, movies, and celebrities. The Vancouver Olympics came in first (72,900 searches), followed by February 23rd greetings, even though the holiday isn't officially celebrated (66,600 searches), the film "We Are from the Future 2" (54,100 searches), and Viktor Yanukovych's inauguration (41,900 searches).
