UNIC's assistance for Ukrainian business development
Business development is always a long and often risky process. And during wartime, when it's impossible to make predictions even for tomorrow, let alone the longer term, it's even more so. At the same time, business development is an investment in the future, both yours and your country's, creating jobs, paying taxes, developing the economy, and rebuilding infrastructure.
During the full-scale war in Ukraine, many businesses were forced to suspend or cease operations due to the loss of demand for certain goods and services and the associated financial losses. This necessitated retraining or finding new markets for their products. Therefore, with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a grant program was created to assist Ukrainian entrepreneurs.

What was the purpose of the project?
The UNIC project offers assistance and support to active Ukrainians seeking to develop their businesses and seeking opportunities to enter international markets and attract foreign investment.
Applicants are invited to participate in a competition, the winners of which will receive grant support to improve their enterprise's operations and bring them into compliance with international standards. This will facilitate entry into the European market, receive investment or grants from international companies, and find counterparties in Europe.
The program's goal is to assist Ukrainian businesses and promote the idea of honest and responsible business practices in accordance with international standards.
How much money can the competition winners expect to receive?
The winners of the competition – and no more than five companies can be selected – can expect to receive 5,000 euros.
Who can participate in the competition?
Small and medium-sized businesses registered in Ukraine for at least one year prior to submitting an application and operating in the following areas are eligible to participate in the competition:
- construction and restoration of infrastructure in Ukraine;
- production of goods, agriculture, construction, etc.
- financial technologies and IT;
- offer services necessary in the process of restoring the country's infrastructure and economy.
Companies wishing to participate in the competition must be prepared to collaborate with international organizations and investment funds and continue to develop after the program's completion.
