Premium registration has begun for the .XXX porn domain.

The .XXX porn domain is now open for premium domain name registration. The premium domain registration period (Landrush period) allows those who were unable to obtain a domain during the first priority registration period to apply for a domain name. This period runs until November 25th.

However, when applying for such domain names, those wishing to do so will need to join the Adult Sponsored Community.

If there are multiple bidders for a single domain, the .XXX domain administrator, ICM Registry, plans to hold a closed auction scheduled for December 12.

On the RuNet, you can apply for premium domain name registration with the Ru-Center registrar. The domain price during this period will be 7,900 rubles. Of this, 3,900 rubles is the application and review fee for the .XXX domain administrator, and the domain registration itself costs 4,000 rubles. This means that if ICM Registry rejects your application, the domain registration fee of 4,000 rubles will be refunded to the applicant.

As a reminder, since September 7, 2011, certain applicants have been able to apply for .XXX domain registration. These include representatives of the adult industry with registered trademarks, or those in the porn industry who wished to obtain a domain similar to a second- or third-level domain name they already own.

In addition, ICM Registry offered those interested the opportunity to apply for blocking a domain name in the porn zone.

According to ICM Registry, more than 80,000 requests for domain name registration and blocking were submitted during the first priority registration period.

The emergence of a porn domain online will help protect children from adult content. The domain administrator promises to strictly check all websites for illegal content, viruses, and phishing threats.

However, representatives of the porn industry were mostly unhappy with the emergence of such a domain zone, noting that they were forced to register names in it to prevent them from being seized by cybersquatters.
