Right to a Twitter account
In the German city of Mannheim, city authorities demanded access to a Twitter user's account. The account was registered back in 2007. The account's owner is a businessman living in Mannheim.
City officials believe that this Twitter account should be owned by the city and used to communicate with its residents.
Naturally, businessman Mark Zondler, the account's owner, disagrees. Zondler believes the state administration has no right to demand that he hand over the account. In response, he suggests registering a different Twitter handle, such as "city_mannheim."
Mark Tsondler is ready to defend his Twitter rights in court.
