Saudi Arabian domain market representatives protest the .GAY domain.

Abdulaziz Al-Zoman, director of Saudi Arabia's national domain zone administrator, SaudiNIC, expressed opposition to the introduction of the .GAY top-level domain.

According to Abdulaziz Al-Zoman, homosexuality is illegal in some countries. For this reason, the .GAY domain extension should not be created. Similarly, other sexually suggestive domains should not be created.

According to Al-Zoman, ICANN's internet reform will have a significant impact on the entire global community, so ICANN must take into account the unique characteristics of all global cultures. A solution could be to register a gay domain, not as a top-level domain, but as a second-level domain, such as .GAY.US.

Experts note that the GAC, a group of government representatives tasked with aligning ICANN decisions with the social, cultural, and religious norms of other countries, may oppose the .GAY domain.

It is possible that ICANN will reject the GAC's protest, as it did, for example, during the introduction of the .XXX porn domain.
