GoDaddy's expired domain auction for this domain attracted several bidders and closed for $155 in February of this year.
The domain name itself has little value to anyone other than the original registrant, but it's safe to say it has several backlinks and good SEO. Some people buy expired domains for their SEO value and reuse them for different purposes. These domains are now called drop domains, meaning they expire and are deleted. "I would never do something like that. The domain buyer apparently rebuilt the site as an informational website about online gambling. They even created a new logo, calling it the Scott Rigsby Foundation. It's completely filthy. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I did something like that," says Scott.
Scott Rigsby is suing GoDaddy for domain loss. He's suing GoDaddy in Georgia, claiming several contractual terms were not fulfilled and that he was never notified of the domain's expiration.
The court will most likely not return the domain to him, although he can prove his rights to the trademark in the domain name if he has a registeredtrademark.
