IP address space is running out due to mobile internet

IP addresses recorded using the old Internet Protocol (IPv4) are running out. AnalystspredictThis could happen as early as spring 2011. Providers around the world are preparing to transition to the IPv6 protocol. The rapid decline in IP addresses is partly due to the popularity of mobile internet.

The IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) Internet protocol uses a sequence of four numbers to represent addresses. These four numbers can only represent 4.3 billion addresses. In the United States, analysts predict that the limit on web addresses will be exhausted faster than anywhere else in the world. This is due to the rapid growth in the number of mobile devices connected to the internet.

Regional Internet registries are preparing for the fact that IPv4 addressing will run out in the United States in less than six months.

It's worth noting that the United States is lagging behind in deploying the new IPv6 protocol. The country has issued a directive requiring all government agencies to migrate their servers and services to IPv6.
