25 applications have been submitted under the New gTLD Program.

In the first week since the application process for the new top-level domains began, 25 companies expressed interest, according to ICANN. However, the number of applications could exceed 25, as a single applicant can apply for up to 50 domain names at once.

Until the application period closes, ICANN does not plan to disclose information about the number of applications or the companies that have expressed interest in the new domains.

The first application period for new domains ends on April 12.

ICANN accepts applications not only for Cyrillic domains, but also for domains written in Arabic script, Chinese characters, and Cyrillic.
