REG.RU launches "Domain Operations Ban"
To ensure maximum protection of your domain from third-party attacks or malicious software, Registrar REG.RU has developed a unique method for protecting your domain name – “Prohibition of Domain Operations”: this service is free and available to all domain name owners in the national .RU/.РФ/.SU zones.
Domains have long ceased to be a narrowly specialized technical tool and have become an effective business tool and a profitable investment. A beautiful .RU domain can cost its owner tens of thousands of dollars on the secondary market. Losing a domain name, temporarily disabling it, or changing its operating principles can significantly impact both a company's profits and its reputation. Unfortunately, scammers find ways to bypass existing technical barriers and protections. Most often, domain thefts occur due to user inattention, forgetfulness, or malware that gains access to management systems.
The "Domain Operations Ban" service allows internet users to ensure maximum domain protection. Enabling this service prohibits any technical operations with the domain, changes to the domain administrator's contact information, and any administrative operations with the domain (change of registrar, administrator, or manager account) without the administrator's written permission to disable the "Domain Operations Ban" service. Disabling the "Domain Operations Ban" service is performed using enhanced security algorithms with additional transaction authentication: verification of the passphrase specified by the user during registration and a subsequent confirmation sent to the domain administrator's contact email, requesting a link to complete the operation.
