Reg.Ru has begun accepting applications for the registration of Cyrillic domains in the .ORG zone.
Registration of a domain like moidomen.org will become possible on February 19, 2011. From that date, the international .ORG zone will be open for registration of IDN domains in all languages of the world.
The price for registering IDN domains in the .ORG zone is 450 rubles. You can submit a preliminary application on the Reg.Ru website. You can only submit one application per domain name, as the company does not hold auctions among its clients.
The most popular are three- and four-character domains, dictionary words, key search queries, and names that fully match the company or brand name.
As a reminder, registration of IDN domains in the .ORG zone began in 2005 with the introduction of the German alphabet. Support for 10 more languages was subsequently added: Danish, Hungarian, Icelandic, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, and Tamil.
