Domain registration in November

Hostmaster has released its latest results on the number of domain names in the Ukrainian Internet segment, along with data for each registrar. The total number of domains in the .UA zone increased by 11,000 in November, reaching 476,864. This increase is smaller than in October, but it's worth remembering that October was a record month for the .UA domain. November's figures are slightly lower than those of September (which saw an increase of 12,000), and are in line with the monthly average for 2009.

•    UA

The number of domains in the private .UA domain increased by 173 compared to October, reaching 8,307. This domain showed a growth rate of 2.127%.

Internet Invest (Imena domain name registrar) remains the leader in the number of .UA second-level domain registrations. DNS-Ukraine LLC confidently holds second place, while Allied Standard Limited LLC (iName registrar) is third. Also rounding out the top five are Tomas Private Enterprise (4th place) and Service Online LLC (NIC.UA registrar) in 5th place.

The remaining five places were taken by the following registrars:

LLC "Ukraine-Host" (hosting center RBC-Ukraine), LLC "Geonik Net", private enterprise Cherkashin V.Yu., LLC "HOSTPRO" (hosting provider Hostpro), private enterprise "Freehost".

•    COM.UA

The number of domains in the .COM.UA domain increased by 2,215 compared to October, reaching 159,560. The domain growth rate is 1.417%.

This is the most popular commercial domain in Ukraine, most often purchased by businesses and entrepreneurs, and used to host official company representative offices and personal websites.

The leader in this domain by the number of registrations is once again the company "Internet Invest", second place in November was taken by LLC "Alid Standard Limited", the registrar of NIC.UA - LLC "Service Online" dropped by 1 position and took third place.

The top five also included the companies ChP Frikhost and ChP Gubarenko V.V.

The remaining five places were taken by the following registrars:

LLC "HOSTPRO" (hosting provider Hostpro), LLC "DNS-Ukraine", private enterprise Cherkashin V.Yu., sole proprietor Mesyura S.V. and sole proprietor Varshavsky R.V. (trademark Besthosting).

•    KIEV.UA

The number of domains registered in this domain zone amounted to 40,481 as of November, the number of domains increased by 579, the growth rate was 1.438%.

The top three domain names in this zone are the leading Ukrainian registrars: Internet Invest (Imena trademark), Service Online LLC (NIC.UA registrar), and Allied Standard Limited LLC (Iname trademark). Fourth place goes to Freehost, and fifth to DNS-Ukraine LLC.

The following registrars took sixth through tenth place, respectively:

LLC "HOSTPRO" (hosting provider Hostpro), LLC "1 GB" (hosting provider 1 GB), Sole proprietor Kravchenko K. V., LLC "Adamant" (Internet provider "Adamant"), Sole proprietor Mesyura S. V.
