Go Daddy is no longer available for sale.
This information appeared in the Wall Street Journal. The sale process was frozen last week, despite several major market players expressing interest in the company. Offers for the company ranged from $1.5 billion to $2 billion, a price that was quite realistic.
The potential buyers were investment firms General Atlantic and TPG. The bidding was supposed to be an auction, but several days ago, the auction was canceled without explanation. The companies offered no clear explanation for why Go Daddy was no longer for sale.
The company is no longer for sale, and its CEO, Bob Parson, has returned to his post. Bob Parson founded Go Daddy back in 1997. Interestingly, shortly before that, Parson donated $1 million to the George W. Bush presidential library on behalf of Go Daddy.
