Melbourne IT Registrar Reports Customer Interest in New gTLD
Melbourne IT, one of the largest registrars, reports that its clients are showing interest in new domain extensions. Melbourne IT's client base exceeds 350,000 people worldwide.
In addition, the company reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2011. According to these data, the company's revenue decreased by 11% compared to the same period a year ago.
The company plans to improve these results with the introduction of the New gTLD program. Seventeen of the company's largest corporate clients have already indicated their readiness to apply for new domains, and over 200 have expressed interest in such domains in the near future.
Melbourne IT plans to provide consulting and other services related to the New gTLD program and thereby improve its financial performance. Melbourne IT estimates that collaboration with one company under the New gTLD will cost between $45,000 and $75,000.
