The domain owner will have to pay a fine for advertising vodka on the website.
Samara Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) demanded the removal of a vodka advertisement from the company "Direct Line" from the internet. In November, antimonopoly authorities contacted the company's management, requesting that the advertisement be removed from the website. The advertisement contained information promoting the health benefits of vodka.
As a reminder, according to the law, advertising of alcoholic beverages is prohibited from promoting the benefits of drinking them, or the potential for a person to gain public recognition, success in their personal life, professional or athletic endeavors, or improve their emotional or physical well-being.
A Samara businessman's ad claimed that the vodka "easily removes bad mood and fatigue," "helps with colds by warming the throat, improves digestion, and relieves headaches." However, the website lacked the necessary warning about the product's health risks.
Representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Samara Region are confident that the owner of the domain where the website with the prohibited advertising was located will be forced to pay a fine.
