The RuNet is preparing to launch a number of top-level domains for major Russian cities. The need for this launch was discussed last year.domains .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА.

In addition to these domain names, similar domains for other cities may appear on the RuNet.

An initiative group was recently created to address the implementation of capital-specific domains. This group actively collaborates with the DotCities organization, which promotes the idea of ​​creating domains for individual cities.

The group included experts, representatives of the Moscow government, and officials.

To date, the initiative group has collected approximately 12,000 signatures to support the introduction of the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА domains. Once registration begins, 500,000-600,000 domain names are expected to be registered.
