Filehoster file hosting service has been shut down in Russia.

Last week, the servers of the file torrent tracker Filehoster.ru were seized from the data center following a search warrant. The service was accused of distributing counterfeit goods—providing access to copyrighted content.

File hosting and torrent tracker closures in Russia have become increasingly common recently. The most notable ones this year were the closures of torrents.ru and iFolder.ru.

The owners of the Filehoster.ru project were not warned of any claims from law enforcement agencies.

It's worth noting that while police previously filed charges against individual users who posted counterfeit content, now they are targeting the service owners.
