Russia and Bulgaria plan to introduce requirements for Cyrillic domains.
Russia and Bulgaria plan to develop a list of terms and conditions for the use of Cyrillic domains. The first item to be discussed by the working groups of both countries will be the Cyrillic equivalent of "www" in domain names. The resulting document will be presented to major internet companies, including Yahoo! and Google.
In addition, during the negotiations, it is planned to create lists of prohibited domains that will not be allowed to be registered in either the Bulgarian ".бг" or the Russian ".рф" domain zone.
As a reminder, the priority registration period for names in the .рф domain zone is currently underway. The Coordination Center recently extended this period and expanded the list of companies that can now obtain their domain names here.
