The US Trade Agency has named Russia and China as the worst countries violating copyright.

According to a report from the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), Russia and China have the worst copyright infringement record. These countries top the list of countries with the worst copyright protection conditions. According to US officials, Russia and China are the most difficult countries to protect against intellectual property theft.

The report's authors also noted other countries that pose a risk to copyright holders. These include Argentina, Canada, and India, as well as Algeria, Venezuela, Israel, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, Ukraine, and Chile.

Inclusion in such a list, according to its authors, should encourage the governments of such countries to more actively combat piracy.
