Russian users are sluggish in registering .XXX domains.

According to the Ru-Center press service, .XXX domains are not popular among Russian registrants.

In total, Russians have registered 200 domain names so far, and 80 requests to block domains have been received.

The company estimates that the rate of domain registrations in this domain zone will remain at 50 names per month.

"During the priority registration phase, names were mostly registered by trademark owners, including for the purpose of blocking. Currently, the applicants are roughly equal in number to individuals and legal entities. However, they are primarily those already associated with the adult industry," Ru-Center notes.

As a reminder, priority registration for .XXX began on September 7, 2011, and open registration began in early December.
