RU-CENTER made concessions in the disputed domains case
At the latest meeting of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, held on May 24, the case regarding auctions in the .РФ domain was again considered.
The audit results showed that there were violations in the process of registering domains in the .РФ zone, in particular, violations of registration rules.
RU-CENTER representatives expressed their willingness to address the identified violations. The company promised to contact the owners of the domains registered in violation.
As a reminder, during these closed auctions, RU-CENTER registered many domains in its own name, which is against registration rules. The company explained this decision as an effort to combat cybersquatting.
To remedy the situation, RU-CENTER must cancel the registry entries and register the domains not in its own names, but in the names of their legal owners, and, if necessary, refund the auction fees.
If the violations are not corrected by December 25, 2011, the registrar RU-CENTER may face suspension of accreditation.
RU-CENTER promised that funds received from users during auctions will be partially returned to the company's clients, with the remainder going toward funding internet technology projects.
