Ru-Center received only 16 preliminary applications for .XXX domains.

The .XXX domain failed to generate much interest among RuNet users. RIA Novosti, citing Ru-Center representatives, stated that the company received only 16 preliminary applications for .XXX domain names during the first day of pre-registration.

Half of these requests are for domains in the pornographic zone to be blocked. Among these requests are well-known companies in Russia.

As a reminder, Ru-Center began accepting preliminary applications on September 6. Application fees start at 7,900 rubles.

There is a stop list for the .XXX domain; for example, the domains Russia.xxx or Sochi2014.xxx cannot be registered.
