Russian Standard wants to obtain the "Like!" trademark
Russian Standard Bank has filed an application to register the "Like!" brand. Details of this registration are currently unknown – it's unclear in which categories the company seeks to register its trademark and, most importantly, how it plans to use it.
At the end of last year, Facebook filed an application to register the "Like" trademark (without the exclamation mark). The world's largest social network sought to obtain the trademark in Russia for three product classes: software, blogs and electronic publications, and computer services, transmission, and sharing.
Facebook already has the following registered trademarks in Russia: the company name (Facebook), the logo in the form of the letter f in a blue square, and the phrase Facebook Developer Garage – the name of Facebook's application developer conferences.
Russia's official patent authority, Rospatent, can review a trademark registration application for up to one year from the date of its filing.
Last year, Russian Standard Bank received permission from Rospatent to use the "ё-мое" trademark.
