Kazakhstan's domain name market will grow by 40%.

Experts note that approximately 18,000 new domain names will be registered in Kaznet this year, representing a 40% market growth. Currently, 45,000 names are registered in this domain zone.

In 2009, the pace of new registrations slowed somewhat, but the market is expected to show even greater growth this year.

Currently, the average price for registering a .kz domain is 2,500 tenge, or about $14. Generic domains (com, net, org, info) can be registered for 2,000 tenge or more ($10 or more).

Experts attribute the increased activity in the domain market to the interest in domain names from squatters and name resellers.
