Samsung achieves another patent victory over Apple

Samsung has secured reinstatement of sales authorization for its Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices in Australia. A court upheld a previously filed appeal. The company can begin selling the devices on December 2 of this year.

This court ruling overturned a previous ruling by a lower court. That ruling allowed Apple to secure an injunction banning the sale of Samsung devices in Australia. Apple accuses Samsung of illegally copying its device designs.

The companies are pursuing these legal battles in courts across ten countries. So far, Apple has received the most favorable rulings, including securing sales bans in the Netherlands and Germany.

Legal disputes between the companies have been ongoing for over six months. Apple and Samsung are partners, however, with Samsung supplying some components for iPads and iPhones.
