Samsung fails to defeat Apple in another patent dispute

An Italian court has rejected Samsung's request to ban sales of Apple devices in Italy.

Sales were scheduled to begin on October 28. Samsung stated that the new iPhone 4S smartphone infringes Samsung patents and therefore should be blocked.

The court found Samsung's evidence insufficient. However, the court's decision is not yet final; the next hearing is scheduled for December 16.

Companies can then present their arguments in support of their positions.

As a reminder, Apple and Samsung have long been locked in a patent dispute. So far, Apple has been more successful in this matter. The company has successfully secured bans on the sale of Samsung devices in several countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Australia.
