Samsung files new claims against Apple

Samsung Electronics has made new claims against Apple in its lawsuit filed in Germany.

Samsung initially accused Apple of infringing three patents, and now four more have been added.

The new patents relate to "mobile device utility," while the previous ones concern telecommunications standards.

In particular, the new patents describe technologies and protocols for the "efficient and reliable operation of telecommunications networks and devices."

"Samsung has always honored its commitment to fairly license its patents related to telecommunications standards, unlike Apple, which uses its patents without Samsung's permission and infringes on the company's rights," Samsung said in a statement. Experts discovered that one of the disputed patents concerns the use of emojis in mobile messaging applications.
