Today, the third phase of website registration in the .РФ zone begins in Russia.

Starting today, July 15, it will be possible to register websites for media outlets and non-profit organizations in the Cyrillic .РФ domain zone.

According to changes in registration rules, only media outlets registered before May 12, 2010, can obtain a .РФ domain. This restriction was due to the increase in the number of media registration applications.

Applications for domains in the .РФ zone will be accepted until September 16, 2010, and applications will continue to be accepted from trademark owners.

Registration in the .РФ zone will open for everyone on October 1.

Currently, almost 14 thousand websites are registered in the Russian-language domain zone.
