A meeting of registrars from the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe will be held in Serbia.

On September 14-15, 2011, in Novi Sad, Serbia, the Coordination Center for the National Internet Domain will holdFourth International Conferenceadministrators and registrars of national top-level domains of the CIS countries, Central and Eastern Europe.

The event will be held with the support of ICANN.

The main goal of the conferences is to discuss internet-related issues. Leading registrars of various national top-level domains will participate in the discussions. One of the conference's goals is to facilitate interaction between registries and registrars of national top-level domains in different countries. This is especially relevant now, as the national segments of the global internet are actively developing.

The International Conference of Administrators and Registrars of National Top-Level Domains of the CIS, Central, and Eastern Europe has been held since 2008. Representatives of national registries and registrars from many countries traditionally participate in the conference; last year, the number of participants was approximately 100.

The conference program includes:

• New top-level domains (new generic domains, domains in national languages, readiness of client applications for new Internet addressing capabilities)

• Legal aspects of the domain space (Internet law, recent legislative initiatives, harmonization of legislation, responsibility of registries and registrars, UDRP, judicial practice)

• Marketing and educational activities, interaction with government agencies (marketing promotions and competitions, popularization of domains, expansion of Internet use)

• Business models of national registries (registry-registrar relationships, procedures for developing rules for registering domain names, corporate structure of registries)

• Critical Internet infrastructure (DNSSEC, IANA functions, IPv6, etc.)
