Compromised security certificates were forged by an Iranian hacker.

It has been revealed that compromised SSL security certificates for Twitter, Facebook, Google, the CIA, MI6, and several other websites were forged by an Iranian hacker. His online handle is Comodohacker.

Using fake certificates, the hacker carried out phishing attacks that went undetected. As a reminder, these certificateswere released by the Dutch company DigiNotar.

Commenting on his actions, hacker Comodohacker stated that he was taking revenge on the Dutch government for its treatment of Muslims.

As a reminder, by hacking SSL certificates, attackers can replace some pages with others with impunity, redirecting the victim to a fake resource.

Most browser developers have released updates and abandoned DigiNotar certificates, but the threat remains relevant for mobile operating system users.
