Social network Facebook wants to register the "face" trademark.

Several months ago, Facebook filed an application to register the trademark "Face," which falls under the "telecommunications services" class. Another company, Think Computer, filed an objection to the trademark.

Think Computer was founded by Mark Zuckerberg's former associate, Aaron Greenspan. It was these two men—Zuckerberg and Greenspan—who created Facebook.

Last May, Greenspan and Think Computer dropped any claims to the social network and its registered trademark. However, patent claims have now resurfaced with renewed vigor.

Greenspan stated that the registration of the "face" trademark would affect his company's products and those of a number of others. This is because Think Computer sells the FaceCash mobile app and holds the registered trademark "FaceCash."

Greenspan believes that registering the "face" trademark will threaten all companies that want to register their trademark with the word "face."
