Via Technologies and Apple have launched a patent dispute.

Taiwan-based processor manufacturer Via Technologies has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it of patent infringement. The company's lawsuit claims Apple is illegally using Via's technologies in its music players, phones, tablets, and the new Apple TV set-top box. The patents cover the hardware and software of these devices. The lawsuit alleges infringement of three patents.

Via Technologies filed complaints with the US District Court in Delaware and the International Trade Commission, emphasizing its readiness to defend its own developments from attacks by any company, including Apple.

As a reminder, Apple and Samsung are currently engaged in a heated battle over patent infringement. Apple has successfully secured bans on sales of Apple devices in several countries.

Via Technologies is demanding that Apple be banned from selling its devices in the United States and that it be compensated for damages caused by the defendant's patent infringement.
