Protests against the New gTLD program in the US

The Coalition for Responsible Internet Domain Oversight (CRIDO) has been established in the United States. It includes eighty-seven companies and trade groups.

The purpose of this association is to protest against the new top-level domain (gTLD) program.

The movement was led by the Association of National Advertisers. Other companies protesting the New gTLD include Coca-Cola, Ford, Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, and many others.

In arguing their case, the coalition members argue that the New gTLD program was launched without regard for the public interest and is detrimental to both brand owners and consumers.
