The Pirate Bay will host servers on drones.

Torrent tracker The Pirate Bay plans to deploy its servers onboard drones. These drones will fly over international waters.

In this way, the resource administration plans to protect itself from persecution by copyright holders.

The reason the torrent tracker's administration decided to resort to such a strange hosting method is because copyright holders, when attempting to shut down a website, often seek assistance from the authorities of the country where the servers are located—that is, where the website is hosted.

Therefore, deploying equipment on neutral territory will complicate the copyright holders' task. "To disable our system, we'll have to shoot down the drones. And that's a real military operation," the torrent tracker's creators believe. Each drone will be equipped with a GPS module and will be controlled remotely.

The aircraft will house servers that will "reroute traffic to a secret location." The Pirate Bay blog refers to these servers as "low-orbit server stations."

The project to create such an unusual hosting service is currently under discussion.
