Tucows acquired a market competitor for $2.5 million.
Domain registrar Tucows has acquired its competitor, EPAG Domainservices, for $2.5 million.
The deal is notable for the size of EPAG's top-level domain directory - it offers registration in 200 top-level domains compared to Tucows' 33.
Tucows hopes to have all 200 TLDs in use by the end of the year, thanks to its 12,000-strong army of resellers.
Previously, EPAG belonged to one of Germany's largest providers, QSC.
Registrar EPAG managed a portfolio of 400,000 domains, which Tucows acquired for an average of $6.25 per domain.
OpenSRS, Tucows' reseller group, currently manages approximately 11 million domains, making Tucows the third-largest registrar after Go Daddy and eNom.
