In the spring of 2012, rules for resolving domain disputes in Russian domains will be ready.

The Coordination Center for TLD RU has created a working group to develop rules for resolving domain disputes in the .RU and .РФ domain zones. The rules are expected to be ready in spring 2012.

These rules are not included in the new rules for registering names in Russian domains, which will come into force on November 11 of this year.

The new rules for registering Russian domains include a "first-to-apply" rule: a domain name will be registered to the first applicant. This rule applies to both new domain names and those that are being released—applications for which previous owners have not renewed.

Let us recall that one of the main controversial points is the registrar's right to suspend the delegation of a domain "upon receipt of a reasoned request from an organization designated by the coordinator (CC) as competent in determining violations on the Internet."
