The owner of LostFilm was held ransom for access to the domain.

Yesterday, one of the most well-known torrent trackers on the RuNet, a service that dubs such well-known series as "House M.D.", "Lost," and several others, reported that the site's owner had been kidnapped and a ransom was being demanded for access to the domain.

The LostFilm website posted a message stating that on May 3, the site's owner was invited to Ukraine under false pretenses. In Ukraine, the site's owner was held hostage and forced to transfer ownership of the domain to other people.

Under threat of death, the owner of LostFilm agreed to hand over the domain. However, due to technical issues, the registrar suspended the domain transfer. Consequently, the kidnappers demanded a ransom for the LostFilm owner, who was released after receiving the ransom.

Upon returning to Russia, LostFilm's owner filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. Control of the site's servers has now been returned to the site's administration.
