US authorities continue to shut down websites without notice. Website owners are beginning to protest, accusing the US government of violating their right to free speech.
The owner of the websites located at rojadirecta.com and rojadirecta.org filed a lawsuit against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In the lawsuit, he argued that the website shutdowns constitute domain hijacking, which violates the free speech rights of US citizens.
As a reminder, the websites were shut down by ITP officers as part of a crackdown on the sale and distribution of contraband goods and copyrighted property. In total, more than a hundred websites were affected.
