Bavarian authorities are preparing to receive their own domain under the New gTLD program.

The Bavarian government has decided to submit an application to register the .BAYERN domain extension. The German capital, Berlin, is preparing to submit a similar application for the .BERLIN domain.

The .BAYERN domain will be administered by a private company selected through a competition.
