.XXX is available for registration

The period of preliminary priority registration of domains in the .XXX domain zone has begun.

During this period, which will last from September 7 to October 28, 2011, representatives of the adult industry who hold exclusive rights to trademarks/service marks that were registered before September 1, 2011, in accordance with the laws of the country of their use will be able to register their names; as well as representatives of the adult industry who wish to register a .XXX domain name that is confusingly similar to their second- or third-level domain name in other top-level domains.

The premium registration period (Landrush) will run from November 8 to November 25, 2011, and free registration will begin on December 6, 2011.

According to ICM Registry, the administrator of the .XXX domain, the .XXX domain will be inherently secure and free of viruses and malware. Furthermore, such websites will be scanned for illegal content, primarily child pornography.

To register a .XXX domain, you must obtain an identifier confirming the applicant's affiliation with the adult industry.
