Yandex unveiled a new data center

The new data center's key feature is its new cooling system, which enables the company to significantly save energy. Yandex emphasizes that this is the first data center of its kind in Russia and the CIS.

The new data center is cooled using outside air. The cooling system only activates when the outside temperature is above 22°C, and reaches full capacity when the outside temperature rises above 31°C.

Yandex specialists calculated that this data center would use half as much electricity to support the same number of servers.

The new data center is the company's largest. Its two phases total 4,500 square meters, with the second phase accounting for 2,200 square meters. It was here that the innovative Full Free Cooling (FFC) cooling system was introduced. The FFC system was developed by Russian specialists.

In total, the new data center will house more than 10,000 servers, with a total power consumption of 8 MW.
