Netcraft released its report on the number of websites on the Internet in January 2010. The number of web resources on the Internet was 206,741,990. This is 11.5% less than the previous month.

The decline in the number of websites on the Internet is partly explained by the fact that about 30 million sites on the Chinese blog hosting site qq.com were removed from the study because they switched to private mode and were no longer included in the calculations.

In January, the market share of all major web servers increased. The number of websites running Apache servers increased by 3 million to approximately 111.3 million, with Microsoft's websites in second place, up 600,000.
