The Vatican's .XXX domain has been registered.

The domain name vatican.xxx was not registered by the official Vatican.

The Pope's press service reports that the Catholic Church has no connection to this domain. The official statement about this domain reads as follows: "For several days now, information has been circulating online that the Vatican has allegedly acquired the domain vatican.xxx to prevent its inappropriate use (.xxx was created specifically for adult websites). In reality, the domain is unavailable because it has already been acquired by someone else, and not the Vatican."

As a reminder, domains in the .XXX domain zone were previously registered by museums, universities, and other organizations not associated with the adult industry.

Most often, such names were used to block such names from further use.

Currently, the domains ukraine.xxx, russia.xxx, and kiev.xxx have already been reserved, and Google has registered its own domains in .XXX.
