EDS is easy, safe and reliable
Thanks to the high level of information security, an electronic digital signature is difficult to forge, and most importantly, a digital signature has legal force. The use of electronic signatures is regulated by Ukrainian law. The legal force of digital identification and the use of the latest software for the use of electronic documents is enshrined in a number of regulations.
The restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are not a barrier to business development and ongoing document management. Almost any document can now be signed online.

What is an EDS?
An electronic digital signature is one of the key tools for simplifying interactions between citizens and government agencies. It provides access to the Unified and State Registers and other information systems.
An electronic digital signature is a digital file used to identify an individual. This file contains encrypted data such as date of birth, full name, email address, and tax identification number (TIN). Sometimes, it also contains a mobile phone number.
The purpose of the file (key) is to identify a specific person and confirm their ability to sign a particular electronic document. So, an EDS is the digital equivalent of our regular signature.
Where can I get an electronic digital signature?
You can obtain an EDS on the website of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine or from any other accredited key certification center that has received an expert opinion from the State Special Communications Service confirming its compliance with Ukrainian regulations on cryptographic information protection. For example, keys on the Ministry of Justice website are generated by the "IIT User CSC" software package.
Any PrivatBank client can easily generate their electronic signature through online banking. To do this, log in to your Personal Account, go to the "Services" menu, open the "Business" tab, select "Generate an EDS key for business," and click the "Download certificate" button.
After this, following simple prompts, you will need:
- provide your details and confirm their accuracy;
- create a password for the file (key storage);
- enter the password that will be sent via SMS or message in the Privat24 mobile application;
- Check the box next to “I have read and agree to the terms and conditions” and click “Next”: the application for receiving a certificate will be generated automatically.
Important! The password is the key component of the digital signature owner's identity when signing documents, so it must be secure and memorized or written down.
A digital signature is a simple tool for online user identification. It's highly secure and suitable for a variety of needs. It can be compared to the universal seal from the hit series "Game of Thrones," only adapted to the realities of our time.
